What will be our next initiative to address
long-term care problems in Oklahoma before
they happen? To answer that question, we
should take a long look at the current lay
of the land. A few details...
- The age wave is about to hit. Hard. Baby
Boomers are graying. And they will be using
our health care infrastructure as never
before.
- What happens when the majority of the Boomer
Nation reaches an age where health care
problems abound? What will the Boomers do
to the Sooner Nation? And our health care
costs? And our taxes?
- Should we place all individuals in nursing homes
or have them remain independent as long
as possible? How will we fund either of
these options? What will be our course of
action?
- What must we do to give Members more choice
in long term care options? Will Members
be able to select from a variety of long
term care alternatives instead of just a
few?
LTCA is already working with our partners thinking about
the answers to these questions. Answers
that will display an innovative approach
to public policy, fiscal responsibility
and quality long term care for all. Answers
that will reinforce our position as Oklahoma’s
Authority for Long Term Care.
